Chubby's furry Mama: Catling Miz Megan.  A sweet gal with a melodic meow, and very "raggy" we understand.  She is the half-sister of Chubby's long time buddy Ari, who was owned by Gayle's Mom for most of his life.  We were deeply saddened when he died about two years ago.  He will always be missed.

This is Chubby's father: Coed Just Joey.  We understand he is enormous, even for ragdolls.  Reputedly, he has a good disposition too, which must be a contributing factor to Chubby's endearing sweetness.

As we celebrate our cat Chubby's 10th birthday today, we did some reminiscing, by going back through his old "family photographs."  We even watched some old videos of when Chubby was a very young kitten, and marvelled that he seemed to still remember his furry Mama's voice when she meowed in the video.

Believe it or not, these are just some of the early photos we have of Chubby's life.  Click on the photo to see it larger.

Chubby's mother is shown here, just 10 days before he and his litter mates were born.  She is sitting and looking out a window, on top of a very large cage used by breeders to separate cats when they don't want an accidental breeding.

Here she is with them when they were about 3 weeks old.  She had 4 boys and 1 girl: Chubby, Moe, Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, and Dolly.  Chubby was named by Gayle's niece, whom observed that he was a good eater.

These 2 above are from the same day... about 3 weeks old.  We aren't sure  who's who here, but our Chubby is the only one with a chocolate stain on the back of one foot.  He is a seal mitted.

Here is Chubby at just 5 weeks old.  Isn't he cute?

Again, we aren't sure who is who here.  We know that the only girl Dolly is a blue mitted, and in fact, they were all mitted instead of pointed.

This one above was taken that eventful day when Gayle met Chubby at a birthday party.  You can read more about that on our "Pets" page.

This one, plus the two below were taken Chubby's first day home with Gayle.  He had a lot of fun exploring his territory, and then as he oft does now, he was all tuckered out.  Time for a snooze.

One of Chubby's favorite places to be in his new home was in the window seat.  Here he is just a couple weeks after coming home...

We think he settled in nicely.

Occasionally, Gayle was able to take Chubby back to his breeder's house, for a visit here and there.  Dolly was one of the last of his litter mates to go, but we think that the breeder had hopes to keep her herself.  But alas, Dolly went to a new home too.

Once, when Chubby was almost a year old, one of his litter mates had had to be returned to the breeder, when the owner couldn't keep him for some reason.  Allergy?  Anyway, Chubby got a chance to reunite with his brother, Beethoven who was now named Felafel.  Here is a photo of 2 sisters, and 2 brothers, on one of those visits!

Below is that same brother of Chubby's, but now renamed Bailey by his next owner, who was able to keep him for good.  As you can see, some of Chubby's litter mates were allowed to roam outdoors; however, the Chubster is not.  He's still pretty content though.

And below here, is another one of Chubby's brothers!  He had been named Moe by the breeder's family, but his new owner named him Andy.  I believe this picture was taken when Andy was about 2 years old.
